This amazing and engaging book about the most controversial food issue of our time could very well be the textbook everybody should refer to when grocery shopping. The Biotech industry (particularly MONSANTO) has been in bed with the FDA to create a danger of catastrophic proportions. The worst part of this take over by and for the Industry is the denying of potential danger to the public and the constant coverups and lies in order to manipulate and control the food production and force it on an unsuspecting public. How can the public even be aware they are part of a giant experiment if they don’t know they are eating GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms).
What Jeffrey Smith shows is actually the “playing God” arrogance demonstrated by the industry while at the same time deconstructing how they don’t really know what they are doing. But he doesn’t just explains what’s going on without facts and testimonies. The most famous “suppressed” scientist was Dr. Arpad Puszai, a British scientist who was the first to seriously doubt the safety of GMOs and was sanctioned for his “anti-industry” stance. Many others are also mentioned. He also talks about real health scare issues associated with GMOs like the L-Tryptophan epidemic int he late 80’s and more.
If you seriously care about what’s in your food, you MUST read this book. On the other hand, if you don’t really worry, I guess you’re happy to remain ignorant.
